a washington dc based director, writer, and dramaturg who is co-founder of musefire productions, a not-for-profit theater and film company. recent directing credits include: stupid frailty for musefire productions’ summer sizzles new work festival, the documentary musefire, the creative spark (now airing on arlington cable access channel), springtime as part of busybodies project for musefire productions, a reading of peaches for the playwright’s forum, and a short play for cherry red’s annual days old play festival.

other directing credits include: angerbox for cherry red productions; staged readings of the quick and method skin for the arena stage downstairs series; that country for the madcap players winter festival; a reading of germany paid for my braces for the playwright’s forum, the lottery for the black women playwrights’ group;

nighthawks and two plays from love’s fire for the studio theatre secondstage, a reading of refrigerators for asia theatre company, fresh looks and getting along for tsunami theater company (which earned her a commander’s award for excellence), an adaptation of letters from camp for the kennedy center millennium stage, princess maggie and crossroads for the shakespeare theatre southeast project, and mr. blue for the source theater company’s washington theater festival. writing credits include a co-adaptation of the desk set by william merchant and produced by the studio theatre (nominated for two helen hayes awards). michelle earned her bachelor degrees in english and theater from the university of north carolina-chapel hill and a master's of arts in literature from american university.

ever since bryan saw the taiwanese movie eat, drink, man, woman that deals with food and relationships, he was inspired to write a script dealing with food from his country, vietnam. in 2004 while vacationing at rehoboth beach in delaware with his wife and parents, he encountered an ordeal that led him to write life’s illusions.   <more>
